The depression had a deep impact on the history of United States. Another result of depression was that people’s faith in democracy capitalism was shaken, and a large number of people showed willing to forego freedom in the hope of economic security. They started looking with favour at Communism which promised with them planned economy and classless society. There faith in Communism was further strengthen by the fact that in Soviet Union during the same period that was no depression and unemployment. As a result a number of American Got converted to socialism or communism. But the immediate effect on American politics was a swing in favour of democrats, who restored to Greater regulation on country’s economy.
